BOARDER IRRIGATION:-

Border irrigation is a method of surface irrigation where a field is divided into a series of rectangular strips by means of earthen dikes or borders . These dikes prevent the mixing of water and soil within each strip, allowing for efficient water distribution and drainage . The technique is particularly suited for certain crop types, such as grasses, legumes, and grass-legume mixtures, and can be adapted for use in precision-graded fields with crops like flat planted or drilled crops .

A border irrigation system is a type of surface irrigation system that involves dividing a field into long, narrow strips bordered by low ridges. Water is then introduced at the upper end of each strip and allowed to flow downhill, infiltrating the soil as it goes.
